(1) PENDING MOTIONS:

   
If it has been more than 7 days since a motion's submission or hearing
and you have received no ruling,
please email the Court Staff
(
give them the cause number and matter for which you need a ruling).
Judge Valdez' goal is to consider and rule on all such matters
within 2 business days of the submission/hearing
.


(2) SUBMISSION/ANCILLARY DOCKETS:

        Submission Dockets are Fridays at 9:00 a.m.

The following MUST be scheduled on a submission docket:
 Motions for Summary Judgment
  Special Exceptions
Motions to Reinstate

Motions to Withdraw*
* Submission notice MUST be served on all parties.

        Ancillary Dockets are held on Fridays at 9:00 a.m.

AFTER filing the Motion and Proposed Order, you MUST call or email 
Court Staff to obtain a date and set a case on these dockets.

DO NOT send a notice of submission or hearing
without prior confirmation from the Court.

Notices submitted without confirmation or approval from the Court will NOT be considered.


(3) MATTERS WHICH DO NOT NEED TO BE SET:

        The following types of motions do not need to be set on the Court's Docket:
      • Motions for Substituted Service
Non-Suits
Agreed Final Judgments
Motions for Default Judgment*
 *These motions do not need to be set for submission.
If there are unliquidated damages, please request an oral hearing
on those damages after you file the motion.
The Rules of Civil Procedure do not require notice to the defaulting party about such a hearing.
However, the Rules of Civil Procedure do require a certificate of service on the Motion for Default Judgment.
